Summer Theatre Camp

July 7-11 2025, Directed by Mallory Mundy

About Summer Theatre Camp

At Center Street Theatre Academy Summer Theatre Camp in Old Hickory, Tennessee, campers will engage the creative process for musical theatre and bring a story to life.

Guided by industry professional Mallory Mundy, students will use songs as inspiration to create characters, setting and plot. They will collaboratively produce and memorize a story of their own creation, generating ideas, writing dialogue, and choreographing to musical numbers.

The camp experience will culminate in a fully developed and memorized 20-minute musical to present to an audience on the final day of camp.

An Unforgettable Experience

This Nashville-based youth theatre camp uses creative drama, which is a process-centered, improvisational form of theatre wherein students explore and enact stories through movement, voice and imagination. While a final performance will be shared, the creative process takes center stage and is at the core of the learning experience for these young artists!

Over the course of the week, students will learn through action the principles of:

  • stage direction

  • blocking

  • acting skills (listening, reacting, pace, projection, posture, characterization, line memorization)

  • singing

  • choreography

  • story development

At Center Street Theatre Academy, we believe that storytelling is an immensely powerful tool to be used for good. Our students learn not just performance skills, but collaborative, problem-solving and creative solution-making that will serve them in everyday life. We hope that this camp inspires our students to carry on in the performing arts, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to give them an experience they’ll never forget!
